What is the load-bar positioning sequence?
- Identify the freight, expected movement, and the role the load bar will play in the complete plan.
- Identify the trailer’s actual post or track system.
- Select only equipment confirmed as compatible with that interface.
- Choose a position based on the loaded freight and approved equipment instructions.
- Install and engage the equipment as directed by its manufacturer.
- Inspect the full arrangement before departure and when required during the trip.
What if the fixed post is not close to the freight?
Do not improvise an interface or use an unapproved fitting. If the trailer has vertical logistics posts specifically verified as compatible with Exact-A-Track, its horizontal direct mount may provide another position at compatible post openings. The bracket, load bar, post condition and attachment, and complete arrangement still require verification.
What does federal guidance require at a high level?
In the United States, 49 CFR 393.100 states that cargo must be contained, immobilized, or secured to prevent shifting to the extent that vehicle stability or maneuverability is adversely affected. The rest of Subpart I contains additional performance and commodity-specific requirements.

Can a load bar be attached to any rail opening?
No. The load bar end fitting and the installed post or track system must be compatible and properly engaged.
What if a fixed post position is too far from the load?
Reassess the freight, available attachment locations, and approved equipment rather than improvising a connection. Exact-A-Track may add a position when mounted to vertical logistics posts verified as compatible; confirm post condition, secure attachment, accessory compatibility, and the complete arrangement.
Does a load bar replace tiedowns or other securement?
Not automatically. The equipment required depends on the cargo, vehicle, applicable rules, and complete securement plan.
